SCHEDULE

Over 16 miles of I-80 from Minooka to New Lenox will be reconstructed, including over 30 bridges. Construction will be implemented in phases to minimize impacts on traffic.

Construction is underway and anticipated to be substantially completed in 2028.

N. I-55 INTERCHANGE

Projected Time Frame: Spring 2025 – Fall 2026

2026-2028 CONSTRUCTION

 

M. I-80: DES PLAINES RIVER BRIDGE REPLACEMENT

This includes Center Street and Chicago Street Interchange reconstruction. Phase Three construction is dependent on completion of land acquisition activities.

Projected Time Frame: 2026-2028

Note: Substantial completion with all lanes open on I-80 is planned for November 2028. Construction activities such as the demolition of the existing Des Plaines River bridges will continue into 2029.
